News
- Shows macro news and news about your holdings, tagged with the holdings they touch.
- When one article touches several holdings, the tags are merged and it appears once.
- The public app fetches news straight from Google News. That means no translation of English articles — translation was something our server did, and it went away when that channel closed.
- The my holdings dropdown at the top picks whose articles you see. It already defaults to your holdings, so most of the time there is nothing to change.
Reading an article
- Tap an article and the text is extracted and laid out to read. You can grow and shrink the type right there, and Open the original site at the bottom takes you to the page it came from.
- Articles you read do not disappear — they fade. You can see how far you got and still find them again. Pull down for new ones.
- If the text cannot be fetched, the app says so and offers Try again and Open in a browser.
Broker reports
- Collects company reports and industry reports for what you hold.
- ETFs are matched to industry reports; ETFs and funds are left out of company reports.
- They open in the in-app PDF viewer. On Mac and iPad the document sits beside the list.
Privacy
- Only the holding keywords go out with a news request — amounts and account details are never sent.
